It’s about recognition

No honest artist seeks awards. But something we crave, born from the very nature of being human, is validation by our peers. We have long worked on self-validation, one of the most important aspects to finding balance in the tumultuous world of being artists. But dang does it feel nice to get recognized by your peers too.

4 awards for 3 projects

Storyocity was directly awarded 4 awards at the 2022 Cincinnati Addys; a Gold Addy was given to “Save The Queen” (Ad Club Cincinnati) for Original music with lyrics as well as a Silver Addy for Craft in Motion Graphics, a Silver Addy was given to “Remember” (City Gospel Mission) in Internet Commercial - any length, and a Silver Addy was given to “One In Front of The Other” (City Gospel Mission) for Internet Commercial - any length.

As of writing this post, Storyocity has been blessed with 7 awards (all of which coming within the last year), ranging from international design awards to local industry recognition.

We sure hope our dads are proud, even though they still probably aren’t sure what we do.

The music from the “Save The Queen” title sequence will go on to compete at the next district level in Chicago in the American Advertising Federation Awards program.

Collaborative Success

The entire campaign: “Save The Queen” we collaborated on with our good friends at Curiosity also won a Gold Addy for Industry Self-Promotion. Winning and being credited on 5 total awards during this years show in Cincinnati is not something we are taking for granted.

In total, we won 5 of the 7 awards we were eligible for. This is a win for the entire studio, and every client, agency, and freelancer that was a part of the work. We wouldn’t be where we are without the entire tribe. It takes everyone.

We’re appreciative of the recognition and humbled by the experience. We love what we do and will continue to do what we love. Forever and ever.
